Helsinki Design Week è la manifestazione annuale della città che vuole presentare alle persone le novità del Design. Nei 10 giorni della Design week ci sarà una vasta gamma di eventi sia presso il centro eventi Cable Factory sia nel centro di Helsinki. Il programma comprende workshop, mostre, sfilate di moda, seminari, feste, visite agli studi e agli spazi che solitamente restano chiusi al pubblico, oltre ad opportunità di shopping sia per il pubblico e per gli stessi professionisti del design.
L'apertura di Helsinki Design Week: Do Touch! sarà Venerdì 4 settembre al Cable Factory (Kaapelitehdas in finlandese) ed nel Design District in centro a Helsinki. Durante tutta la settimana si svolgeranno mostre, lanci di nuovi articoli e incontri con i più famosi designer finlandesi.

The theme of this year’s festival, DO TOUCH!, is manifested in events that encourage collaboration between creative professionals and festival visitors.
Helsinki will host the Fifth Helsinki Design Week: Do Touch! from September 4, 2009 to September 13, 2009.
Helsinki Design Week is an annual city festival which purpose is to introduce people to new design. The 10-day “Week” celebrates collective creativity through a wide array of events that take place at the Cable Factory and in the center of Helsinki. The program includes workshops, exhibitions, fashion shows, seminars, festivities, visits to studios and closed-for-public spaces, plus shopping opportunities targeted for both the public and design professionals.
Friday's opening will be at the Cable Factory (KAAPELITEHDAS) and around the Helsinki Design District. Shows, product launches and personal appearances by Finnish designers will take place throughout the week at different locations. The official opening, Design Partners 09, will take place on Tuesday, September 8th at the Cable Factory. This event is by invitation only.
